I wanted a water feature by the labyrinth, so Mark built me a fountain.
I told him I would like three, round containers for water and to have the water spilling from one to the next. He loved having a direction to head in and then the freedom to design within my broad brush strokes of an idea.
This was one of the easiest collaborations that Mark and I have ever had. He sent me to pick out the stone to work with after he had created the rough design, and then he and I and our daughter, Megan, placed them.
I love the sound of the water falling over stones, not too loud, not too quiet. It adds a peaceful sound element to walking. You can hear it if you put your attention on it, but if your attention has gone inward or further out to the birds, then it doesn’t detract from that experience.
